Beer Description
Smooth drinking Double IPA made with Louisiana raw cane sugar &
southern cascade hops. Gold-copper in color with a citrus, floral, and spicy aroma.
Along any body of water throughout South Louisiana, you鈥檒l see him, perched with his chest out. He鈥檚 deliberate, he鈥檚 different, and he demands respect. He鈥檚 the Pompous Pelican, and he鈥檚 our Double IPA鈥檚 namesake. However, it鈥檚 not only the name that makes this beer a Louisiana legend, it鈥檚 also the local ingredients as well.
Pompous Pelican uses local raw cane sugar from the oldest sugar cane plantation in the United States and southern Cascade hops from a small farm in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. It is justly named after our state bird. Early European settlers were so impressed with the pelican鈥檚 generous and nurturing attitude that it became a symbol of Louisiana, and now, it鈥檚 the symbol of our Double IPA.
