This brew is made with a mixture of various German malts including Pale, Pilsner and Wheat. We than use Flaked Oats and Crystal Malt for a hint of sweetness and a creamy texture.
The Lone Soldier Sour: A German Style Berliner Weiss or Golden Sour Ale. This brew is made with a mixture of various German malts including Pale, Pilsner and Wheat. We than use Flaked Oats and Crystal Malt for a hint of sweetness and a creamy texture. The sourness comes from the use of a wild bacteria that is inoculated into the beer before boiling and fermentation that creates a slightly sour taste and breadiness leaving the beer funkified! This beer is named in honor of the Union Soldier Statue standing next to the fountain in downtown Chambersburg facing south to guard against the return of southern raiders.
