This strong stout is complex with a balance provided by all the spicy hop and fruity, roasted and rich malt character we could get with the addition of rye.
We made this beer so big it took two mashes to fill the kettle. Mostly designed for further aging in a bourbon barrel, this strong stout is complex with a balance provided by all the spicy hop and fruity, roasted and rich malt character we could get with the addition of rye’s spice. Molasses added an extra layer of flavor to the brew. We think it is drinking very well right now and can hardly wait until the barrels mature.
