There is a special place in our hearts for the perfect blend of coconut and vanilla in an imperial stout. As many of you know, Sleepy Bear is one of our favorite imperial stouts we brew. For the past few years we have paired Sleepy Bear with copious amounts of fresh toasted coconut and Madagascar vanilla beans. For the first time we have taken Sleepy Bear aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels and we infused it with over 100 lbs of toasted coconut and 5 lbs of vanilla beans. The end result is a unbelievably silky, rich imperial stout boasting sweet aromatics of coconut and creamy vanilla undertones. A perfect balance between barrel character and adjuncts.
