Beer Description
Don’t expect strongly roasted, porter-like flavors because this beer finishes clean and crisp like a German lager. Moderate hop bitterness with German noble hop flavors can be noticed.
A.k.a. “black Beer” or “Black Pils” is a dark German lager that balances roasted yet smooth malt flavors with moderate hop bitterness. We brewed ours with all German malt, hops and yeast, to make an authentic representation of the style. The aroma is heavy with roasted chocolate and German noble hops may also be detected. The schwarz is medium bodied with light to moderate roasted malt flavors, but which are never burnt tasting ; don’t expect strongly roasted, porter-like flavors because this beer finishes clean and crisp like a German lager. Moderate hop bitterness with German noble hop flavors can be noticed.
