Beer Description
St Francis Summer Night Saison.
Originally brewed to quench the thirst of Belgian farm laborers, this unfiltered ale is a favorite of mine. It pours yellow-orange with a lingering head and moderate carbonation. It’s unique flavor comes from the use of a special strain of yeast which produces a spicy character. Orange peel is also added for a bit of citrusy bitterness, though overall this is not a bitter beer. Finally, our Summer Night Saison also has Belgian Candi Syrup—a type of sugar that beefs up the alcohol a bit, without adding to the flavor. The Saison will appear a bit hazy like the Weisse because it is unfiltered.
