Beer Description
Imperial smoked Stout aged in bourbon barrels.
The base stout focuses on rich caramel notes and chocolate with a deep, savory backbone. The entire batch made its way into bourbon barrels where it rested for over a year. Jackie O’s was preparing to release the first batch in November of 2014, and had the name, graphic and labels were being printed. On Sunday, November 16th, Union Street, Athens, Ohio suffered a devastating fire that consumed 4 local buildings. Local fire departments managed to stop the fire before it consumed the Jackie O’s Brewpub. On Monday, November 17th, Bourbon Barrel Wood Burner labels arrived in our brewery. The irony presented itself in a crimson foil glow. This beer will always be a reminder of how lucky Jackie O’s was on that tragic evening. Cheers to local firefighters and the amazing support received from all over the country.
