Beer Description
Not long after KBC opened, Drew (Head of Brewing), found out that his wife was pregnant with their first child, Blake. This recipe took over 4 years to finally get brewed, not without some constant reminding from his wife. Behold, the Blake IPA (and of course, the can is wrapped with every 4 year old boy’s favourite – a T-Rex).
The word “Blake” is derived from Old English meaning “black” or “dark,” so, naturally, this IPA is dark in appearance with a long-lasting tan head of foam. It boasts a subdued roasted character that gives structure to its dominant juicy tropical fruit-forward aromas and flavours. Combining a dark beer and an IPA might sound strange if you have never had one before but much like the boy whom it is named after, this beer will charm and surprise you.
