Beer Description

Our newest seasonal is a perfect-for-summer refresher and a unique take on the traditional — and tart — German gose beer style. With a pale straw color and a hint of haze, it features a heady nose of fresh basil and sliced cucumber. These aromatic charms are followed by a bracing sourness and emphatic lemony and licorice-ish basil flavors, all matched with cuke notes and a noticeable smack of salt.

Background: The thirst-quenching gifts of German-style gose come from the combo of salt and sourness in a light bodied and low-ABV beer. To get the perfect amount of pucker in ours, we use the new “Philly” yeast strain instead of using the typical “kettle sour” approach. It delivers the sought-after lactobacillus tang in elegant fashion while adding notes akin to tropical fruits, apples and peaches.
