Beer Description
The San Francisco Bay may be a little colder than we’d like for swimming, but we think we should still celebrate one of the Bay’s most famous landmarks with a tropical fruit forward, but clean and crisp, West Coast style IPA. Alcatraz is the newest iteration in our series of West Coast style IPAs in partnership with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and we’re thrilled to mix it up a little! Alcatraz pours a bright gold and crystal clear hue with crisp white head. Big aromas of pineapple, kiwi, bubblegum, and licorice waft from the glass. Pronounced carbonation on the palate balances more juniper and diesel forward flavors, alongside similar pineapple and bubblegum notes that are cut by an assertive bitterness. Alcatraz quickly finishes crisp and dry and asks right away for a second sip. We don’t recommend the swim from Alcatraz Island, but we do recommend celebrating beach vibes with our new tropical fruit forward but deliciously crisp West Coast IPA.
