Beer Description
Legend has it that when Napoleon occupied Berlin in 1809, he called Berliner Weisse the “Champagne of the North”. Inspired by this nearly extinct style of wheat beer, we brewed a beer utilizing the traditional Berliner Weisse ingredients, ran it into our kettles, pasteurized it, inoculated it with a custom culture of two Lactobacillus strains and once the desired tartness was reached, we pasteurized it again and proceeded to ferment it. Near the end of fermentation we added more than 250 pounds of all natural peach puree. The result is a lightly tart wheat beer with a strong peach undercurrent.
