Beer Description
BWX/OMG! Celebrates the collaborative spirit shared between Brewery Ommegang and Firestone Walker Barrelworks. In late 2016, Firestone brewed a farmhouse style Saison with Ommegang, and fermented the beer, called Glimerglass, using Ommegang’s unique house yeast. Glimmerglass was then transferred to French Oak barrels, inoculated with Barrelworks’ wild yeast and lactic cultures, and aged 24 months to allow proper metamorphosis. This collaborative blend utilizes spicy Glimmerglass and funky Bretta Weisse as the canvas upon which a variety of fruit aromas play. A freshly crafted foeder of SLOambic (Wild Ale with Blackberries) was employed in the blend to add rich background notes of berry and bramble. We also used ZinSkin (Wild Ale with Zinfandel grapes) to further heighten the fruit notes and accentuate the tannic structure of the finish. We hope you enjoy! Santé
