This blonde colored ale has its roots firmly planted in Germany but has adapted well to suit the taste of the American public.
Santa Cruz Ale Works Hefeweizen By nature it is unfiltered as Hefeweizen means wheat beer with yeast in German. Unlike our Bavarian counterparts, this wheat beer does not have the same banana and clove undertones or esters. These flavors are typically formed during fermentation are not the result of adding spices or fruit flavorings. Our hefe starts off with a nice, balanced wheat malt profile and then finishes off with a light lemon/orange citrus essence.
