Simcoe Imperial IPA opens the Single Hop series from Danish brewer Mikkeller; no prizes for guessing that it is made with one of Mikkeller鈥檚 favourite American hops.
When poured it broods a cloudy amber crowned with a thin, pale beige head.
Mild malt and heady hops fill the aroma with echoes of grapefruit, orange, pine and caramel.
When sampled this syrupy Imperial IPA reveals a long-lasting bitterness in successive layers of hops, citrus, caramel and pine needles.
