Get Your Beer Menu Graded

Last updated August 18, 2016 · By Will

We’ve built the largest database of beer menus in the World (over 25,000) and analyzed the data to learn what craft beers people drive 300 miles to track down, what beer menus win the most awards for best beer selection in each city, and what processes for curating beer selections drive the most customers to businesses.

We've seen what works, what doesn't, and how to use technology to grow craft beer programs.

Get Tips On How To Improve Your Beer Selection

We'd love to give you constructive feedback on your beer selection, which will be provided to you privately by email. All you have to do is submit your beer selection to us, and we will send you a report card explaining what we think could be improved and how to do it.

Criteria

We review each beer menu using a number of criteria. Here are a few examples:

  • Beers from the best local breweries.
  • New releases you probably haven’t tried yet (not necessarily seasonal, but the one-off beers from the best breweries).
  • Beers for different occasions (easy drinking, new releases, value, celebratory).
  • Balance of beer styles (not everyone has the same taste).
  • Balance of national, regional, and local beers (national and regional beers provide a less expensive option, making it easier to afford for those not looking to geek out on every single beer).
  • The right number of beers (based on traffic and popularity to guarantee freshness, and proper turnover) Ray Daniels (Cicerone Founder) says “you shouldn’t have more taps than guests on a Tuesday morning.”
