Industry profile: Bar manager Alicia Rogers

Alicia Rogers works as bar manager at Jeremiah’s Tavern in the Rochester, NY area.

It's fun to hear stuff like this, since so many of us can relate. For example:

  • She got into the industry at 16 because she needed a job in order to buy a car. It worked. She was pushing her 1993 Grand Am around town soon thereafter.
  • She started out at the host stand, and has since worked every single FOH job there is.
  • At 19, two years before she could [legally] drink, she learned to bartend from her sister. They worked at the same place, so whenever there was a slow time she'd get to learning.
