About the brewery

Maine Beer Company is built around the simple concept: “Do what’s right.” This motto is at the forefront of every decision we make from how we treat our employees, to the beer we brew, to taking care of the world around us. Our Freeport, Maine-based brewery was founded in 2009 by brothers David and Daniel Kleban. They were determined to create a company centered around social responsibility and doing what was right. We are known primarily for our IPAs and pale ales, but also for our commitment to environmental causes through our membership in 1% for the Planet.
Our Freeport tasting room features 20 draft lines, including some limited and brewery-only releases. Our mezzanine offers additional seating overlooking the tasting room and the production space. We serve pizza from our wood-fired oven using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We also offer merchandise, gift certificates, and bottles of our beer to go.
Our beer is currently distributed in 29 states (AL, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV) and the District of Columbia (DC).
