We’re two buddies from South Jersey that are fully devoted to quality craft beer. Though small, we’ve opted to use environmentally friendly steam rather than direct fire burners to hear our 10 barrel brewhouse, and are including many other sustainable technologies at our tasting room as well.
Woodbury, where our brewery is located, is known for being one of the oldest train line hubs in New Jersey. We are just a few buildings away from an old train line where you can hear the train going by while in our tasting room. Our brewery’s name, like menu of our beers, is a train term. The phrase, “Eight and Sand,” was used to wish train crews a quick and safe journey. Eight comes from notch-8 which is the quickest setting on certain trains, and sand is shot on tracks to prevent slippage.
