About the distillery
Ohio’s microdistillery license allows up to 500 barrels of spirit per year. Limits vary by state. Small distilleries are becoming the newest growth segment in the specialty spirits industry across the country.
Woodstone Creek uses a direct-fired “potstill” which concentrates flavor – as opposed to “column” distillation which neutralizes flavor. Woodstone also uses the finest ingredients. As true single barrel, each barrel is distilled, aged and bottled individually – not blended with other barrels. Each barrel will have a character all it’s own which cannot be duplicated. The bourbon, from our own five grain recipe, and malt whisky labels are numbered.
Woodstone bottles its spirits when they are determined to be ready by the distiller. This can mean some will not be available at all times. Distribution will also be limited. We will bottle 2-5 barrels a year.
