Upon his deathbed, Michael Collins’ father made a prediction about his youngest son: “One day he’ll be a great man and do great things for Ireland.” Michael Collins lived up to his father’s prophecy and is often called the “greatest Irishman that ever lived.” A brilliant leader with a keen sense of history, he died at the young age of 32.
