Beer Description
If you’re looking for another cranberr-coffee-cantaloupe IPA, this is not your beer. Rather than nuking our beer with hops or throwing in a bunch of weird flavorings, we had a radical idea: build deliciousness the old fashioned way, by coaxing complex flavors out of simple ingredients using patience and craft.
SMaSH is a Saison, a style that has been a favorite of farmers for centuries. We’re inspired by famous-style beer because that’s where we brew: each batch is made by hand in our brewery on the site of an old dairy farm in Garrattsville, NY (watch out for the grey rooster — he’s mean).
The result is a refreshing straw-colored ale with crisp malt flavors, plus a slight spiciness from the hops and a tanginess from our own secret homegrown yeast. It’s a beer that’s easy to drink without being boring, intriguing without being pretentious. You’ll have to bring your own cantaloupe though.
