Farnum Hill Dooryard 2014

Light golden, clear and effervescent.The nose presents first a sweet, ripe apple aroma, followed by yellow plum and floral and yeasty notes. Even cold, this is effusively aromatic cider. A light to medium body delivers the spritzy liquid on the palate where acid and tannin doing a wonderfully balanced dance. This is not sweet cider, but does possess a hint of sugar. It’s described as “off-dry” in Farnum Hill notes, but that gives the sugar more credit than it deserves. Flavors of sauteed green apple and lemon citrus are most noteworthy here. The finish is enveloped in a Schwepps Bitter Lemon with a lime twist. This is pretty sophisticated cider. There’s no short skirt here. No buxum dancing women in a flamboyant display.
