This dark beer has been brewed with careful attention in accordance with our age old brewing tradition. It is a flavourful beer, tasting slightly bitter-sweet.
For centuries south West Flanders known as an agricultural area with a rich tradition in the cultivation of cereals, but also hop. Through inheritance, the family came from Leroy Boezinge, respected brewers of the 5th generation time, in the possession of the brewery Van Eecke that his name is retained. They ensured a further continuation of this noble product, with respect for tradition and craftsmanship. The creation of our Poperings Hommelbier, by Charles Leroy, following the three annual feasts hop. Knowing that bumblebee local corruption for hops, the name was soon found for this monumental beer. Awarded with several gold and silver medals, we got worldwide recognition for our brewing. Our breweries are still owned by the same family Leroy and are led by now the 7th generation of brewers, Henry and Philip Leroy. We use our own yeast strains grown and cultivated in our laboratory to Boezinge. Our brewmasters go since generations from father to son.
